Senior Financial Analyst
SUMMARY
KODA Resources is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning, strategic decision-making, and business development initiatives. This role will play a key part in guiding capital allocation, evaluating growth opportunities, and preparing materials for leadership and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring 2–3 years of investment banking experience combined with 2–3 years of corporate finance or private equity experience within the oil and gas industry, and demonstrate strong financial modeling, research, and presentation skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and maintain corporate financial models to support budgeting, planning, valuations, and strategic analysis.
- Support the company’s FP&A process, including forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario modeling.
- Conduct financial, operational, and commercial development analysis to support both organic growth and acquisitions and divestitures and M&A opportunities
- Prepare high-quality Board, management, and bank presentations that communicate key financial and operational performance insights.
- Partner with senior leadership and functional teams to evaluate and implement corporate strategy initiatives.
- Manage and maintain market research and macroeconomic data relevant to company performance and growth strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Accounting, Reserves, Land, and Operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide ongoing support for executive-level decision-making.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may provide project-level guidance and collaborate cross-functionally.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required.
- 2–3 years of investment banking experience required.
- 2–3 years of corporate finance or private equity experience, ideally in oil and gas, required.
- MBA or CFA designation preferred but not required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Expert-level proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Excel.
- Familiarity with upstream oil & gas financial metrics, A&D activity, and capital markets preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex analysis into actionable insights.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and team-oriented mindset.
LANGUAGE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentation materials.
- Comfortable interacting with senior leadership, external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
REASONING ABILITY
- Able to analyze complex financial data and extract meaningful insights.
- Exercises sound judgment in supporting both tactical and strategic initiatives.
