Revenue Accounting Manager

SUMMARY

KODA Resources is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to oversee the company's upstream oil and gas operations. This role requires a self-starter who can manage a high volume of complex transactions independently and navigate both routine and technical revenue accounting responsibilities with minimal oversight.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee monthly revenue accruals and distributions for oil, gas, and NGL production across approximately 4,000 operated and non-operated properties.
  • Ensure timely and accurate royalty, working interest, and severance and production tax payments and filings.
  • Work with internal teams and external consultants to maintain regulatory compliance for ONRR, Indian, Utah and North Dakota royalties.
  • Prepare and review revenue journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP, including ASC 606.
  • Coordinate with Land, Reservoir Engineering, Production Accounting and Operations to resolve revenue-impacting issues and support business decisions.
  • Manage relationships with purchasers, working interest partners, and royalty owners, addressing suspense and payment inquiries.
  • Assist in the external financial statement audit process related to revenue, coordinating with auditors and internal teams.
  • Support acquisitions and divestitures through due diligence and systems integration.
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will manage internal revenue accounting staff and external consultants.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and oil and gas revenue accounting.
  • Working knowledge of division orders, JIB, and royalty and severance tax reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and revenue/accounting systems. BOLO strongly preferred.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a performance-driven, team-oriented environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in upstream oil and gas revenue accounting required.

LANGUAGE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
